  • DescriptionZweizylinder-Tenderlokomotive E 2/2, Nr. 11, Serie A 1, Fabriknummer SLM Nr. 236: Kleine Dampflokomotive mit einem Brown’schen Antrieb (deren Ventilsteuerung durch Charles Brown entwickelt). Dieser Antrieb mit hoch angebrachten Zylindern ideal für Verwendung der Lok auf Baustelllen, in Werkarealen und bei Trams (Lok braucht auf Schienenhöhe sehr wenig Raum). Inbetriebnahme 1881 durch Gotthardbahn (bis 1890), 1890-1934 in Betrieb als Rangierlok auf Strecke Choindez-Klus bei der von Roll'schen Giesserei in Choindez.

    Bedeutung: Nach Fertigstellung des Gotthardtunnels am 1. Jan. 1882 beförderte Lok bereits die Postzüge Göschenen-Airolo-Göschenen, zusammen mit der zweiten Brown'schen Lok der GB. Damit führte die Lok überhaupt die ersten Züge durch den Gotthardtunnel. Offiziell in Betrieb genommen wurde die Gotthardstrecke erst am 1. Juni 1882 mit der Fertigstellung der Zufahrtsstrecken.
