The Croco, an abbreviation of Cross-Country, is an off-road vehicle designed for civil and military use. The vehicle consists of two pans that are linked together so that they can interlock. This means the wheels stay on the ground even in the most difficult terrain. There is no suspension and only the low-pressure tyres absorb impacts.

Wankel engine
The Croco is powered by a Wankel engine originating in Israel. It is lighter and more compact than a conventional piston engine and drives all four wheels through a Variomat gearbox. These can all be steered, which is essential because of the narrow angle they can be turned through. 

From Central Switzerland
First designed and produced in Central Switzerland, the Croco is later manufactured in Germany. Following problems with the Wankel engine, a series with a four cylinder engine from a small car is also produced.

Für zivilen und militärischen Gebrauch
Der Croco – eine Abkürzung für Cross-Country (Querfeldein) – ist ein Geländefahrzeug, das für zivilen und militärischen Gebrauch konzipiert wurde. Das Fahrzeug besteht aus 2 Wannen, die miteinander so verbunden sind, dass sie sich gegeneinander verschränken können. Damit bleiben die Räder auch in schwierigem Gelände immer am Boden. Eine Federung ist nicht vorgesehen. Einzig die Niederdruck-Reifen nehmen Schläge auf.

Wankelmotor
Angetrieben wird der Croco durch einen Wankelmotor israelischer Herkunft. Er ist leichter und kompakter als ein herkömmlicher Hubkolbenmotor und treibt über ein Variomat-Getriebe alle 4 Räder an. Diese lassen sich alle lenken, eine Notwendigkeit bei ihrem kleinen Einschlagwinkel.

Aus der Zentralschweiz
Zunächst in der Innerschweiz konzipiert und produziert, wird der Croco später in Deutschland gefertigt. Nach Problemen mit dem Wankelmotor erscheint zudem eine Serie mit dem 4-Zylindermotor eines Kleinwagens.

Pour usage civil et militaire
Le Croco (une abréviation pour « cross-country ») est un véhicule tout-terrain ayant été conçu pour l'usage tant civil que militaire. Cet engin se compose de 2 baquets, reliés l'un à l'autre de telle sorte qu'ils peuvent s'entrecroiser. Ainsi les roues restent constamment au sol, même en terrain difficile. Aucune suspension n'est prévue, seuls les pneus basse pression absorbant les chocs.

Moteur Wankel
Le Croco est propulsé par un moteur Wankel d'origine israélienne. Plus léger et plus compact qu'un moteur classique à pistons alternatifs, il entraîne la totalité des 4 roues, via une boîte de vitesses Variomat. Et toutes sont orientables : une nécessité, vu la faiblesse de leur angle de braquage.

Départ de la Suisse centrale
Conçu et produit initialement en Suisse centrale, le Croco voit son assemblage transféré plus tard en Allemagne. Le moteur Wankel connaissant des problèmes, une série en est en outre sortie avec le moteur à 4 cylindres d'une petite voiture.

Per impieghi civili e militari
La Croco (un’abbreviazione per “Cross country”, attraverso i campi) è un veicolo fuoristrada concepito per impieghi civili e militari. Consiste in due vasche che sono unite tra loro in modo da potersi piegare l’una rispetto all’altra. In questo modo le ruote restano sempre sul terreno anche su terreni difficili. Non sono previste sospensioni. I pneumatici a bassa pressione assorbono i colpi.

Motore Wankel
La Croco è mossa da un motore Wankel di provenienza israeliana. È più leggero e compatto di un normale motore a pistoni ed è dotato di una trasmissione Variomatic su tutte e quattro le ruote. Queste sono tutte sterzanti, una necessità dovuta al loro piccolo angolo di sterzata.

Dalla Svizzera centrale
Inizialmente concepita e costruita nella Svizzera centrale, la Croco viene più tardi prodotta in Germania. In seguito a problemi con il motore Wankel appare anche una serie con il motore a quattro cilindri di una piccola vettura.
