Together with the Bremgarten-Dietikon Railway, the two railway companies ordered 23 double-decker railcars. Since the seventies, the volume of traffic had strongly increased. The numbers of vehicles and their running frequency was adapted accordingly. By placing a joint order for the comfortable and high-performing new vehicle stock, substantial savings could be achieved.
