Kleinroller AMI, der AMAG Automobil- und Motoren AG, mit ZF Sachs-Motor. Konstruktion des vormaligen Jawa-Direktors Jaroslav Frei. Der AMI wurde vier Jahre lang, von 1950 bis 1954, von produziert. Die sehr kleinen Räder waren nicht jedermanns Sache. Originell ist die Hinterradfederung, die im wesentlichen aus einer zwischen Sattel und Hinterradschwinge befestigten zentralen Feder besteht. Gestartet wird der Ami von Hand mit einem Starterseil, so wie man einen Motorrasenmäher startet. In the early 1950s, the AMI was Switzerland’s answer to the European scooter boom. Manufactured by Automobil- und Motoren AG, Schinznach-Bad (CH), which was actually known for importing and assembling American luxury cars, this small scooter offered robust technology for everyday use. This 1952 model represents the height of popularity for this charming small scooter. The vehicle was designed under the direction of former Jawa director Jaroslav Frei, who had fled to Switzerland after the Second World War. The scooter was considered the “tractor among two-wheelers”: extremely reliable, economical in consumption and, thanks to its large wheels, ideal for the topographical challenges of Swiss roads in the 1950s. A rare example of Swiss two-wheeler production with indestructible drive technology from Fichtel & Sachs.
