Condor,model A 750 with sidecar, 1948
This impressive motorcycle sidecar embodies Swiss post-war engineering. The Condor A 750 was developed between 1947 and 1950 specifically to meet the high demands of the Swiss Army. Its robust two-cylinder boxer engine with square stroke ratio was designed for the most difficult terrain. The gearbox is a technical highlight: in addition to four road gears, it offers four off-road gears and a reverse gear, which greatly increased maneuverability in alpine terrain. The emergency start device was a
pragmatic solution – in an emergency, the ignition could be easily switched under the headlight with a coin. Thanks to its spring-loaded three-point mounting and swing axle, the Geko sidecar (Biel) could be precisely adjusted for toe-in and camber, ensuring stability on uneven roads. The equipment also includes an original LMG mount, a 20-litre spare canister for greater range and a parking brake to lock the front wheel.
