War in the air II
During the Second World War, Switzerland possessed a modern air force with the Morane D-3800 (built under licence), the Messerschmitt fighter Bf-109 (purchased) and the K+W C-3606 (designed locally). The training glider SG-38 „Zögling“ was used for basic training. After the war, the Pilatus factory in Stans produced the powerful trainer P-2. This was followed by the P-3 and later the PC-7 and PC-9 trainers.
