Children’s prams and much more
From 1882, children’s prams and, soon after, children’s toys, were made in Lenzburg, mainly from wood. Since 1913, the company has been called Wisa-Gloria, after the two major stakeholders, A. Widmer and G. Sandmeier.
Pavement scooter
The German expression „Tretroller“ (pedal scooter) cannot establish itself in Switzerland. The expression that is most commonly used, „ the Trottinett“, originates from the French language, and refers to the leg work that is required in order to move forward. „Trottiner“ means „to walk with small fast steps“.
Revived
For around 100 years, the trottinett is almost exclusively a children’s toy, like our example here. The invention of folding, light and nevertheless robust aluminium scooters (for example, the „Micro“ brand) makes the trottinett fashionable once again at the start of the 21st century, and not only for children.
