La test type of large cabin on the shuttle aerial cable-railway
The shuttle service aerial railway, built to the la test safety specifications, has an eighteen-roller twin-cable running gear with separate flanged brake system. The exterior shape of the passenger cabin was selected to give the best possible resistance to unfavourable wind conditions and at the same time provide the passengers with a good view from the large windows. The necessary stability is provided by the specially formed cabin floor among other features. Apart from the station safety devices, a permanent load-control system with liquid crystal indicator is in the cabin as an additional safety measure. If the cabin is overloaded, there is first an acoustic warning signal followed by an electrically operated blockage of the railway. The equipment is built into a control panel, from which the rail traffic can be operated and important data supervised. Over a two-way communication system it is possible to keep in contact with the other cabin as well as with the stations. An emergency handle mounted above the control panel sets the clamp brake in action. A trapdoor is on the cabin base through which an escape rope ladder and sack can be lowered. For the rescuing of passengers the cabin should be blocked.
