Crossair
Destination Europe
1993-2000
In 1993 a new corporate identity is introduced, designed to show a strong orientation towards Europe. In 1995 Crossair enters the air charter business. A billion dollar order with the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer in 1999 marks the biggest fleet renewal decision in the company’s history. In the same year Crossair comes under criticism for the salary and employment situation of its pilots. On 10th January 2000 a Crossair Saab 340 crashes near Nassenwil, shortly after taking off from Zurich. All 10 occupants of the aircraft are killed.
