Second generation of the Stoosbahn (1:10), 1970
Following the first version of the Stoosbahn of 1933, the new 1970 funicular was a response to the growing popularity of winter sports. The boom towards the end of the 20th century led to the introduction of a second link to Stoos via Morschach. These means of transport were facing economic difficulties as the public’s fas¬cination waned. Attempts to promote skiing are designed to boost the popularity of the sport.
