Lightweight and fast
After World War II, the Swiss Federal Railways wanted to offer faster trains. In order to achieve the higher speed of 125 compared to 110 km/h, they ordered a new type of locomotive with matching carriages. To be able to run as fast as possible in the many curves of the main CFF network, it was decided to build vehicles that were as lightweight as possible.
