Electric locomotive Ae 6/6 No 11412
CFF 1956 1:10 scale model
The locomotives with the coat of arms
This type of locomotive was used in freight traffic to replace the Crocodile that had been built in the twenties and which were not able, because of their limited speed, to cope with the increase in capacity that became necessary on the St. Gotthard line in the post-war period. The Swiss Federal Railways decided to communicate their attachment to Switzerland by putting the Swiss cross on the front face and the cantonal and community coats of arms on the side faces of this locomotive.
